About

Marti Knows Stuff is where curiosity meets real life—and where learning things the practical way is kind of my thing. I’m Marti, and I’ve spent years digging into details for a living, which means I’m naturally wired to research, test, and figure things out before sharing what actually works. Around here, “knowing stuff” isn’t about being an expert in everything—it’s about being willing to try, learn, and pass it on.

I live in western Wisconsin on a small hobby farm, where life revolves around the seasons and a steady rotation of projects. We raise beef cattle, keep a flock of chickens, and share the place with Stella, our loyal dog, and Colby—the barn cat, named appropriately after the cheese. When I’m not outside, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen preserving food, planning the next garden season, tackling home organization projects, or mapping out travel plans.

This blog is a collection of the things I’ve learned along the way—gardening, food preservation, homesteading, home projects, and everyday systems that make life simpler. Nothing fancy, nothing perfect—just real-life know-how, shared honestly, so you can feel a little more confident jumping in and doing it yourself.
